Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (formerly known as Food Craft Institute) was established in 1976.  The Institute was sponsored by both the Governments of India and Rajasthan.

The Institute was then upgraded to the present status on 1st April 1989. At present this is one of the 51 Institutes at the national level imparting Hotel Management and Catering education under the Ministry of Tourism

The aim of this Institute is:

  To provide skilled manpower to the Hotels and other Hospitality Organizations, to all the sectors of the Service industry

  To encourage local talent as well as budding future professionals across the country to take up Hospitality Profession as their career choice.

  By providing skilled and trained manpower to the industry, this helps in creating employment opportunities to the students passing out from this institute.

Through creation of employment opportunities the economy of the state / country gets better.
